In December 2023, International Gaming Technologies (IGT) saw two of its popular games, Wheel of Fortune and Powerbucks, awarding massive jackpots to lucky players. The Wheel of Fortune game paid out a whopping $1,257,054 to a fortunate participant in Las Vegas, while the Powerbucks jackpot reached a staggering CA$2,056,175 in Ontario, Canada, making it the third-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
Powerbucks, which was introduced in 2016 and is specific to Canada, has now paid out 52 jackpots of at least $1 million. Wheel of Fortune, launched in 1996, has made over 1,100 millionaires and paid out a total of $3.5+ billion in rewards. These massive payouts have generated widespread interest in IGT’s games within the gaming community.
IGT also extended its supply contract for the UK National Lottery Operations, allowing the company to continue supplying the core lottery system to the UK National Lottery. Jay Gendron, the Chief Operating Officer of Global Lottery at IGT, expressed the company’s pleasure in continuing to support the lottery operations, as well as other suppliers, including Allwyn. IGT is also the primary technology provider for 25 lotteries in the USA.
Looking ahead, IGT has announced its presence at ICE London 2024, where it will be presenting a game-changing line-up. The company has teased the unveiling of three new games at the event and has invited the gaming community to speculate on the titles. Some highlights at the IGT booth will include video poker, floor manager, electronic table games, video lottery, and mechanical reels.
In addition to its gaming success, IGT was recognized with the Equality 100 Award for being a leader in LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion. The company scored a perfect 100 points on the annual assessment of workplace quality for the community, as part of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023–2024 Corporate Equality Index. The Index includes 1,384 participants and emphasizes the importance of promoting a friendly workspace for all communities without discrimination.
Furthermore, IGT’s Sara Condo was named Compliance Professional of the Year at the 2023 Global Regulatory Awards, hosted by Vixio Gambling Compliance, to recognize and celebrate achievement across the industry. These accolades highlight IGT’s commitment to excellence and inclusivity within both the gaming and corporate realms.
