Hard Rock Casino in Rockford, Illinois is set to open by the end of August next year, which will bring about 400 new job opportunities. The location is situated at 610 N. Bell School Road and will have a total of 750 employees, with 350 already hired. The casino is conveniently located at the crossroads of East State Street and Interstate 90, making it easily accessible.
At a recent networking event held at the Illinois Bank & Trust Pavilion located at the Aldeen Golf Course, the company announced a series of hiring events in the summer and workforce readiness workshops beginning in early 2024. Geno Iafrate, the president of the new casino, emphasized the importance of community outreach in filling positions with the right individuals. The company aims to start early conversations to ensure a smooth hiring process and avoid last-minute scrambles.
The hiring process will commence with the posting of job ads for management positions in March, followed by supervisor positions in April. Additional job announcements are expected in May, with June and July slated for hiring events. It’s important to note that not all supervision positions will be new hires, as some will be filled by individuals currently working in Hard Rock’s temporary casino.
In addition to a wide range of management positions, the new employees will have the opportunity to work in food and beverage services, operations, transportation, retail, warehouse, and other departments necessary for the casino’s operations. Salaries for supervisors will start at $50,000 per year, with managers potentially earning up to $70,000 per year. The casino operations department will also have various job openings, including card dealers, cashiers, security officers, drivers, audio and video equipment staff, sportsbook hosts, and more. The company aims to ensure fair wages, with non-tipped employees earning at least $18 per hour, and tipped employees making $10-16 per hour.
The casino is also looking to fill positions in the culinary department, including executive chefs, outlet and banquet chefs, butchers, cooks, bartenders, servers, hosts, and hostesses. These new hires will play a crucial role in providing an exceptional experience for customers.
Overall, the opening of the new Hard Rock Casino in Illinois promises a significant boost in local employment opportunities.
