The latest World Series of Poker (WSOP) is on the horizon, and this time, it will be happening at Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. This highly anticipated event will be the final occurrence in the series that ran throughout 2023 and 2024.
Offering events for players of all levels, the tournament is scheduled to kick off on January 3 and will continue until January 14. Players holding the Choctaw Rewards Club card can sign up at the city’s Grand Theater before their chosen event begins, with a range of special events catering to both professionals and amateurs.
Kaley Green, the Regional Director of Marketing at Durant, expressed the excitement surrounding the hosting of the World Series of Poker at Choctaw Casino & Resort, describing it as a great opportunity for recreational poker players to test their skills against professionals and potentially come out as winners.
This upcoming poker tournament marks the third time the WSOP has been held at this popular Oklahoma facility, with previously remarkable wins. In July, Harvey Castro, a 21-year-old student and soccer player, walked away with over $275,000, while November saw player Brad Ruben earning upwards of $250,000.
The tournament offers an impressive win potential with 18 events, including No Limit Hold ‘Em tournaments with various buy-ins and prize pools, culminating in the main event with an entry fee of $1,700 and a chance to win up to $1 million.
The 2023 WSOP circuit saw the breaking of three records across the 54th Annual WSOP, WSOP Paradise, and the WSOP Circuit, attesting to the high levels of competition and excitement. Winners of this event will also gain entry to the exclusive “invitation only” VIP event Tournament of Champions, featuring a freeroll of $1 million, held in Las Vegas during the WSOP, with invitations extended to both offline and online winners.
